ARTISTIC
STATEMENT
My work is centered on restoring the pianist as a primary artistic presence, rather than a neutral executor of repertoire.
Historically, pianism was inseparable from improvisation, bodily rhetoric, and real-time authorship. Figures such as Liszt, Clara Schumann, and early Chopin operated within a performance culture where interpretation, composition, and personal presence coexisted naturally. My artistic practice reactivates this lineage within a contemporary context.
In performance, I integrate composed repertoire, original works, and real-time composition into a single continuous arc. Improvisation is not treated as an add-on, but as a structural and expressive tool — a form of composition unfolding in the moment, informed by classical technique, harmonic knowledge, and embodied listening.
My focus is not stylistic fusion, but performative agency: the ability of the performer to shape form, timing, and emotional trajectory in direct dialogue with the audience and the acoustic space. This approach consistently results in performances described by listeners as unusually immediate, immersive, and personally affecting.
Technically, my background includes classical concert repertoire, jazz language, and improvisational disciplines. These are not presented as separate identities, but as a unified vocabulary serving transmission rather than display.
Each performance is conceived as an event rather than a recital: a shared experience in which sound, silence, risk, and presence are actively perceived.

"The Jury was nearly incomprehensible, talking over each other the entire time, but a term that emerged was:How in tune can you be with each other? How far will you stretch that boundary? How much further are you willing to push it?
